In 2004 the Israeli government witnessed the great outpouring of Christian support for Israel during the very trying times of the Second Intifada. In response, Members of Israel’s Knesset (Parliament) established the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus to reach out to faith-based legislators and Christian communities worldwide. Their goal was to build relationships, strengthen lines of communication, and encourage support for the Jewish state. This idea of turning Biblical support for Israel into political action would become known as ‘faithbased diplomacy’.
Two years later, because of their outreach, the bipartisan Congressional Israel Allies Caucus was established in the U.S. House of Representatives. There are now 52 caucuses in legislatures worldwide, and the Israel Allies Foundation exists to coordinate and empower this network of faith-based legislators.
Due to the rapid growth of the Foundation’s European network – not only by the number of caucuses but also by the active involvement of the legislators – IAF Europe opened a new office in the Netherlands. The European office works to facilitate and strengthen the number of Israel Allies caucuses in Europe and to form an active European network.
Currently, there are caucuses located in:
