Announcement – Demonstration in Geneva

Fighting the hypocrisy of the United Nations Human Rights Council

A coalition of pro-Israel organizations from across Europe and Israel will protest outside the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva while the council discusses a series of anti-Israel resolutions

Member of Knesset Yair Lapid will be the headline speaker

The demonstration will take place on Monday 21st March 2016 at 13:00 opposite the Palais des Nations where the United Nations Human Rights Council meets in Geneva

Hundreds of supporters of Israel from across Europe will come together in Geneva to protest against the hypocrisy of the United Nations Human Rights Council and its bias against Israel. The protest is being organized to coincide with the council’s discussions of a series of anti-Israel resolutions. Since its creation, 10 years ago, the UN Human Rights Council has written more resolutions against Israel than the rest of the world combined, a fact which points to the failure of the council to fulfil its role in an objective and effective manner.

Member of Knesset Yair Lapid, who has been one of the leaders of the fight for Israel’s standing in the world, will be the keynote speaker. He will be joined by European parliamentarians and witnesses from Israel who will share their personal stories.

The demonstration was initiated by a coalition of pro-Israel organizations who want to raise their voices heard in response to the ongoing hypocrisy of the United Nations Human Rights Council and the disproportionate, unjust focus on Israel. The coalition includes the Israel Allies Foundation, StandWithUs, Swiss-Israel Friendship Association, European Union of Jewish Students, World Union of Jewish Students, World Zionist Organization (Office of the Vice Chairman) and others.
